The Bachelor Party is yet another Americanism that has been twisted and amalgamated into the Indian society, much like the Kadahi Paneer Pizza or McAaloo Tikki burgers. During the import of this noble concept, many of the aspects have been altered or dropped and new ones have been added to cater to the needs of the Indian males. Regardless of what you may have learnt from watching VH1 or MTV, a bachelor party does not necessarily have to be an alcohol sodden farewell to single days or an evening of debauchery (unless you want it to be, of course). Think of it as the groom’s last huzzah as a single man. It is a normal party that is given in honour of the groom to be by his close friends.
